Mailchimp is a leading marketing platform for small business. We empower millions of customers around the world to build their brands and grow their companies with a suite of marketing automation, multichannel campaign, CRM, and analytics tools.
UX Research Managers lead, coach, and mentor a group of UX Researchers. Experienced researchers themselves, they support the individuals on their team as they conduct studies and expand their user experience research toolkit. In addition, UX Research Managers are a voice for the team, advocating for and providing visibility to their team’s work. Confident storytellers, they routinely synthesize and socialize compelling, relevant research insights from multiple sources from across their teams' work.
What you'll do here:
- Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing a team of UX Researchers that work cross-functionally and use a mixed-methods approach to provide strategic data and insights to the teams that build the Mailchimp product and experience
- Guide associate, market-level and Sr. UX Researchers on the design, execution, and analysis of qualitative, light quantitative, and mixed-methods research studies (including but not limited to interviews, surveys, concept testing, moderated and unmoderated usability studies, and card sorting)
- Review and provide feedback on research study plans and research deliverables
- Advocate for and provide visibility to their team’s work, routinely synthesizing and sharing actionable, high-level findings from the team
- Represent the voice of the Mailchimp customer among cross-functional partners and stakeholders by highlighting the small business user, their needs, and behaviors
- Ensure researchers are working effectively with their respective cross-functional teams and stakeholders, mitigating or escalating issues, as appropriate
- Partner effectively with peer managers on other teams or in other departments—such as Strategy, Design, Product Management, Engineering, and Support
We'd love to hear from you if:
- You have expertise in a wide range of generative and evaluative research methods
- Some management experience preferred
- Experience working in software (bonus points for experience working at a company that serves small-to-medium size businesses)
- Able to maintain methodological rigor, while staying flexible and adjusting to changing timelines or priorities.
- Excellent collaboration skills—our researchers work with colleagues from all corners of the Mailchimp universe
