We are looking for a partner manager who will manage and cultivate a community of referral partners by driving reciprocal leads to Mailchimp and our partners . This person will serve as the primary liaison between our community of partners to Mailchimp’s internal teams. They will help ensure that our partners have the resources they need to best support their clients who use Mailchimp. This role requires an entrepreneurial mind that is able to build solutions, be proactive, and work cross-functionally.
What you'll do here:
- You will proactively identify and foster potential strategic partnerships and pursue both inbound and outbound opportunities from stakeholders in the organization or external requests
- Drive adoption and revenue by managing all existing referral partner relationships
- Research, evaluate, vet, and prioritize partners across a comprehensive array of business categories, including both SaaS and non-SaaS companies.
- Collaborate with monetization and strategy to optimize our discount offering and improve our value proposition to prospective customers
- Work closely with design and marketing to optimize our referral placements ensuring adoption of partner discounts to Mailchimp customers
- Assist with significant deal structuring, negotiations, and contract analysis in coordination with the legal and strategy teams
- Coordinate with partner operations to create a scalable process for onboarding and managing referral partners
- Accurately produce and manage a robust pipeline of referral partners in our CRM to provide reports, updates and show progress
- Develop and drive joint go-to-market business plans with existing referral partners, including quarterly business reviews to uncover opportunities for growth
- Measure success of the referral partnership program by tracking key KPIs to determine further investment or termination of strategic partnerships
- Drive awareness and applications to the Mailchimp Partner Program
- Gain deep understanding of partner needs, target audience, key players, and industry trends
- Participate in industry events and a steady cadence of personal interaction with ecosystem partners
- Convey feedback from ecosystem partners to appropriate Mailchimp teams to help inform design, creation, and implementation of referral resources.
- Work effectively in a heavily cross functional, fast-paced environment
- Exercise organizational skills to set priorities, plan, and manage multiple relationships
We'd love to hear from you if:
- You have 3+ years experience working for and/or partnering with small to medium-sized technology firms, preferably SaaS
- 3+ years partnerships/account management/sales experience
- Knowledgeable about affiliate, referral, and discount programs across the SaaS ecosystem
- Strong ability to negotiate agreements, including interpreting business terms in a legal documents
- Ability to think through a long-term vision for a partnership, but realize and act on the small steps needed to get there
- Proven ability to meet and exceed goals
- Follows through on items without being managed
- Highly motivated and adaptable
- Exceptional people skills
- Ability to travel 30%+
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bonus: Experience with small businesses and products geared toward the small business customer
