Our Technical Content team within our Customer Education department is made up of writers, producers, and content strategists who maintain our public knowledge base, developer guides, and Tutorial & Webinar playlists on YouTube. We share a love for learning and a passion for helping our users succeed by simplifying complex concepts or instructions in an easy-to-understand way. We collaborate with many teams across Mailchimp to create exceptional educational content so our users can do their best work.
We are looking for a Sr. Content Strategist specialized in video strategy and/or digital media (Video Strategist) to join our growing Technical Content team. You are a skilled, empathetic, and collaborative content creator who can drive audience strategy on video platforms. You are driven to problem solve and care deeply about helping others and providing a great customer experience. What you'll do here:
- Help guide the team in creating strategies for audience development and programming on YouTube and other platforms where applicable.
- Work with Technical Content writers, producers, and videographers to ensure video content is informative, appealing, and engaging.
- Identify, adapt, and reframe successful video content for different platforms.
- Report on web traffic, monitor SEO and user engagement, and suggest content optimization.
- Optimize titles, thumbnails, metadata, and engagement with YouTube community and audiences.
- Provide feedback, edit, and write copy/scripts for videos as needed.
- Help increase page growth and implement strategic initiatives to enhance Mailchimp’s standing on video platforms.
- Use research and data to inform future videos.
- Collaborate with Technical Content writers, producers, videographers, and strategists, product leads, Marketing, Research, Support, and Design to understand requirements, user needs, and business goals.
- Advocate for the importance and role that video plays within customer support and education and provide actionable takeaways for department leadership.
- Inform team and leadership of high-performing content.
- Expand relationships internally to build and maintain deep-level partnerships across the organization.
- Partner closely with brand design and marketing stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with new digital tech. and best practices for video and/or social media.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- 4+ years experience with social and digital media
- Knowledge of instructional design, education, and social media trends
- Experience launching and/or managing large-scale video projects and a proficiency in video content management systems
- Understanding and ability to determine and shape goals through data analysis
- Ability to identify target audience preferences and build content to meet those needs
- Understanding of market trends and target demographics
- Experience using video and/or social platforms for brand awareness
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of YouTube platform: publishing elements, optimization, channel management, analytics, retention, and engagement strategies
- Understanding of digital landscape and a proven interest in keeping up with developments across major social platforms and the online video ecosystem
