Jelli is hiring a Senior Performance Engineer for our Platform team. As a member of this team, you will have a key role in our product’s success. You will work with developers to measure and optimize our audio advertising solutions for our customers — from the biggest brands to your favorite local coffee shop. You will own feature delivery from design to deployment while working alongside a team of smart people who like to jump right into things and aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty.

THE TECHNOLOGY
- Our SaaS applications are powered by Ember.js on the front end and Java on the back end
- We utilize Amazon AWS infrastructure to host our application servers (Java, Python) and database server (MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB)
WHAT YOU’LL DO ON AN AVERAGE DAY
- Design and conduct tests with complex workloads and data shapes to expose potential bottlenecks and failure points
- Analyze performance results to identify system inefficiencies and suggest optimizations to address the same
- Analyze metrics and trends to glean opportunities for performance improvements
- Conduct technical presentations to educate teams on how to improve system performance
- Devise innovative solutions to improve performance engineering effectiveness
WHAT’S REQUIRED?
- 6+ years of professional experience in performance engineering and benchmarking
- Strong coding skills (Java, MySQL)
- Strong experience in bottleneck analysis, profiling and tracing
- Extensive hands-on experience with performance engineering, including the use of JMeter, LoadRunner or similar tools, as well as profiling tools
- Strong hands-on experience on system monitoring tools and frameworks
- Comfortable with Linux, Docker, AWS, git, Nexus
