Job description
We are looking for an Android Software Engineer who has a passion for pushing mobile technologies to the limits. This Android Software Engineer will work with our team of accomplished engineers to develop the next generation of our mobile applications. Android development works closely with other app development and technical teams across Ridgeline so projects will vary across mission initiatives and goals.
What you will do:
- Develop advanced applications for the Android platform
- Collaborate with diverse teams to identify, design, and ship new features
- Work with outside data sources and APIs
- Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
- Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
- Discover and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
What you will accomplish within the first six months in this role:
- Unify communication-based android apps into one common app
- Work to support a variety of applications that are supporting customer programs that deal with mapping technologies & location-based services
- Improve existing apps based on real-time feedback from our end-users
What you need to qualify:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- Software development experience and Android skills development
- Working experience in Android app development and
- Have published at least one original Android app
- Experience working with remote data with REST and JSON
- Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
- Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and latest technologies
- Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
